How to fix missing schema faqpage on Next.js (Headless)

Add FAQPage schema markup to any page that contains a Frequently Asked Questions section so Google can display your answers as rich results directly in search.

Steps for Next.js (Headless)

  1. Identify every page that renders an FAQ section (e.g. app/faq/page.tsx, app/product/[slug]/page.tsx). The JSON-LD block must live on the same page as the visible Q&A content.
  2. Create a reusable FaqJsonLd component at components/seo/FaqJsonLd.tsx that accepts a typed array of { question, answer } pairs and renders a <script type='application/ld+json'> tag via Next.js's built-in <Script> or a plain <script> inside the JSX (see snippet).
  3. In each page file that uses the App Router, import FaqJsonLd and drop it anywhere inside the returned JSX — it renders no visible UI, only the <script> tag that Google crawls.
  4. If you use the Pages Router instead, import FaqJsonLd the same way; Next.js will hoist the <script> tag correctly because it contains no document.write calls.
  5. Ensure every question and answer string matches the visible text on the page exactly — Google cross-validates the schema against the rendered DOM.
  6. Deploy and validate with the Google Rich Results Test (https://search.google.com/test/rich-results) and Schema Markup Validator (https://validator.schema.org/) to confirm FAQPage rich results are eligible.

What is missing schema faqpage?

FAQPage schema is a small block of structured data (hidden code) you add to a webpage that tells Google "this page contains questions and answers." It uses a standardized vocabulary (Schema.org) so search engines can reliably read and understand your FAQ content — even if it looks different from other sites. The markup lives in a `<script>` tag in the page's HTML and is invisible to shoppers but fully readable by search crawlers.

When Google recognizes valid FAQPage markup, it can expand your search listing to show individual questions and answers directly below your blue link — sometimes doubling or tripling the vertical space your result occupies on the results page. This "rich result" appearance dramatically increases click-through rates because shoppers see your answers before they even visit your site, building trust instantly. For ecommerce stores, FAQ sections on product, shipping, or returns pages are prime candidates: a richer listing means more qualified clicks, lower bounce rates, and more conversions. Without the markup, Google may never discover your FAQ content exists, and a competitor who has the markup can capture that expanded real estate instead of you.
